Ghanaian songstress Cina Soul has expressed deep fear for her safety following disturbing remarks made by actor and media personality Big Akwes during a televised segment that has sparked widespread public outrage.
The alarming comments emerged during a “Kiss, Marry, or Kill” challenge, where Big Akwes shockingly declared on live television that he would not hesitate to kill Cina Soul. He went further to describe, in graphic detail, a violent fantasy in which he would stab her repeatedly with knives in both hands, drink her blood, and eat her intestines—a narrative he disturbingly described as “self-glorifying.”
In a distressed post on X (formerly Twitter), Cina Soul tagged the Ghana Police Service and Minister for Communications and Digitalisation, Sam George, expressing serious concern for her safety.
“@GhPoliceService I’m deeply unsettled by this. I initially chose not to respond to earlier comments because I do not wish to be associated with this individual, but at this point I feel genuinely threatened,” she wrote.
She further appealed to Sam George to act swiftly and help regulate disturbing content aired on Ghanaian television.
“I may not know the proper channels to report this, but it’s critical we take a firm stance against this kind of dangerous rhetoric being broadcast on our TV and radio platforms. We must not normalize hate,” she added.
Her post has drawn massive public support, with many celebrities and social media users calling for the immediate arrest of Big Akwes and regulatory action against the media platform that allowed the remarks to air.
As of the time of this report, the Ghana Police Service has not yet issued an official statement, but calls continue to mount for swift action to protect Cina Soul and clamp down on hate speech and violent commentary in Ghanaian media.
