The paramount chief has given the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) an ultimatum to transfer Dr. (Mrs.) Benedicta Awusi Atiku, principal of Dambai College of Education (DACE), or face repercussions.

In an interview with Adom News, Dasebre Bonja stated that the principal allegedly refused to allow any native of the area to occupy the position of vice-principal. The chief described this as unacceptable and insisted that she must be transferred if she continues to reject qualified indigenes.
“The principal’s alleged stance on the vice-principal position is disrespectful to the community,” the chief said. “If GTEC does not act, traditional leaders may take matters into their own hands.”
A local youth group has already called on authorities to investigate serious allegations against Dr. Atiku. The chief emphasized that the college belongs to the community and will not tolerate disrespect from any appointed authorities.
He added that the principal has repeatedly shown disregard for the chiefs, reportedly stating she would never work with a native as vice-principal. Nana Bonja said her actions undermine social unity, despite several letters requesting that their son be considered for the vacant position.
The chief supported demonstrations organized by some youths in the area calling for her removal, which received full backing from the community. He warned GTEC to appoint a qualified indigene, stating that the chief and his people can no longer accept the principal, who has continually disrespected them.
