Ghanaian musician Eugene Baah, popularly known as Choirmaster, performed a traditional ritual to dissolve his marriage vows to his late wife, actress Beverly Afaglo, during her funeral on Saturday, August 8, 2026.
The emotional ceremony took place as mourners gathered to pay their final respects to Beverly, who died in May after battling cancer.
Footage shared by Dadie TV on Facebook showed Choirmaster taking part in what appeared to be a traditional rite to formally sever the marital bond between him and his late wife.
The ritual involved references to the couple’s shared home and appeared to symbolise the ending of their marriage following Beverly’s death.
Mourners watched the ceremony with emotion, with Beverly’s mother among those visibly affected by the moment.
The funeral, held at the Forecourt of the State House in Accra, brought together family members, friends, colleagues and well-wishers to honour the late actress.
Beverly Afaglo died on May 24, 2026, at the age of 42. She was survived by her husband, Choirmaster, and their children.
