Nana Kwesi Egyir IVX, Head of the Royal Anona Family of Amosima, has called on husbands—particularly in the Central Region—to play a more active role in raising their children, especially in areas like education.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony of Golden Press Preparatory School in Amosima, the chief acknowledged that while many men are making efforts, much of the burden still falls on women.
He emphasized the importance of shared responsibility in parenting, stating that the future of children depends on both parents working together.
“Husbands must do everything possible to assist their wives in caring for the children. Too often, women bear the greater responsibility,” he said.
Nana Egyir also appealed to the government to introduce soft loan schemes for private school proprietors to help them expand infrastructure.
He underscored the role of private schools in job creation and education and noted that high interest rates remain a major barrier to accessing financial support for growth.
Meanwhile, the headmistress of the school, Elizabeth Boamponsam, expressed appreciation to parents and guardians for their continued partnership in ensuring quality education for their children.
She also commended teachers for their dedication and highlighted the enthusiasm of students, saying, “Success is not only measured by grades but also by the willingness of pupils to explore and embrace new ideas.”
