Chief Imam’s spokesperson sends important message to BECE candidates

-

The Spokesperson for the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Aremeyaw Shaibu, has encouraged all candidates sitting for the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) to be confident and trust in God as they begin today, Wednesday, June 11.

Speaking in an interview on Adom FM’s morning show Dwaso Nsem, Sheikh Aremeyaw said candidates should not be afraid, as God has already equipped them with all they need to succeed.

He said no one should be afraid because “God has given you everything you need as far as this exam is concerned.”

He urged the students to remain confident and apply what they have learnt in school over the years.

“Be confident and do your best with what you have studied. Don’t let fear take over,” he said.

Sheikh Aremeyaw also cautioned candidates against engaging in any form of examination malpractice.

“Don’t cheat. Don’t allow any teacher to bring you answers or try to help you in ways that break the rules.”

He encouraged students to believe in God and trust that He will guide and protect them throughout the exam period.

“Believe that God will lead you, protect you, and help you write well. He will not leave you alone. You will come out with flying colours,” he added.

Sheikh Aremeyaw further appealed to teachers and invigilators to show love and support to the candidates by helping them stay calm and focused.

He urged teachers not to do anything against the laws of the exams but rather help the candidates do the right thing.

He also took the opportunity to pray for all the candidates, asking for God’s blessings, wisdom, and understanding.

“May God bless you, give you a retentive memory, and open your minds to remember what you have studied. When our children succeed, Ghana succeeds.”

Meanwhile, the 2025 BECE will run from Wednesday, June 11 to Wednesday, June 18.

According to the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), a total of 603,328 candidates have registered for this year’s examination. The number includes 297,250 males and 306,078 females from 20,395 schools nationwide.
