Premier League club Chelsea has reportedly entered the race to sign Ghanaian attacker Mohammed Kudus from West Ham United this summer.
The 23-year-old has attracted interest from several top English clubs including Liverpool, Newcastle United, and Arsenal.
Kudus joined West Ham in 2022 on a five-year deal featuring an £85 million release clause, which becomes active for Premier League clubs during the first 10 days of July.
Chelsea, preparing for their FIFA Club World Cup campaign, are monitoring Kudus closely as they seek to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season.
After an impressive debut season with 14 goals and six assists across all competitions, Kudus had a quieter recent campaign, scoring five goals for West Ham.
Chelsea will begin their Club World Cup on June 16 against Los Angeles FC, with subsequent matches against Flamengo and ES Tunis.
For many Ghanaian football fans, a move to Stamford Bridge would represent a major step forward for Kudus, cementing his status as one of Ghana’s top talents on the international stage.
