In a heartwarming display of appreciation and connection between players and fans, Black Queens forward Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah has gifted a signed jersey short to renowned Akan sports commentator Kobby Stonne—fulfilling a playful request he made during one of his lively match commentaries on Asempa 94.7 FM and its 64 affiliates.
The emotional presentation took place at the Alisa Hotel, where the Ghana women’s national team is currently lodged following their bronze-winning performance at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
Chantelle, who had a stellar tournament and earned one ‘Most Valuable Player (MVP)’ award, was instrumental in Ghana’s campaign through all six matches. Her performances won the admiration of fans and commentators alike—including Kobby Stonne, whose passionate live commentaries captivated listeners throughout the tournament.
During one of Ghana’s matches, Kobby jokingly expressed his desire to receive Chantelle’s jersey shorts—locally referred to as a pant jersey.
To the surprise and delight of many, Chantelle honoured the lighthearted request, personally handing over the signed shorts to Kobby in a moment filled with laughter, gratitude, and mutual respect.
The gesture underscores the strong camaraderie between Ghana’s football stars and the media personalities who amplify their journey. It also reflects Chantelle’s humility and sense of connection to those who passionately support the national team.
