RC Celta de Vigo have confirmed the permanent acquisition of Ghanaian teenager Bernard Somuah Sarpong from Asante Kotoko SC, securing the forward on a long-term deal that runs until June 2030.
The 19-year-old winger initially arrived in Spain in August 2024 on a loan arrangement that included an option to buy.
After a series of eye-catching displays, the Galician outfit activated the purchase clause, underlining their belief in his growing influence within the club’s long-term plans.
Somuah’s rise through the ranks of the “Canteira Celeste” has been swift.
Following a brief settling-in spell with the Juvenil A side, he earned promotion to Celta Fortuna, where he marked his Primera Federación debut against Zamora CF on the opening day of the campaign. Since then, he has cemented his place as a regular feature in the reserve team.
He has netted five goals this season, with his contributions proving pivotal in the team’s push for promotion.
Among his standout moments was a dramatic late winner against Talavera at Barreiro, sealing three points in stoppage time and further enhancing his growing reputation.
Celta Fortuna currently sit second in the league with 48 points, firmly in contention for what would be a landmark promotion — a charge in which the young Ghanaian has played a central role.
