Asante Kotoko head coach Karim Zito has taken a swipe at Kwara United’s Sanni Tunde after guiding the Porcupine Warriors into the next round of the CAF Confederation Cup.
The Ghanaian giants booked their place with a narrow 1-0 win on Sunday at the M.K.O. Abiola International Stadium, completing a 5-3 aggregate victory following their 4-3 first-leg triumph in Accra.
Despite Kwara United’s pre-match confidence, Kotoko forward Hubert Gyau struck in the second half to seal qualification for the two-time African champions.
After the game, Zito did not hold back when asked about his Nigerian counterpart.
“Kwara United’s coach, who doesn’t even have a license, was talking nonsense when I beat him in Ghana,” Zito told the media after the game.
“I taught him sense by beating him again today,” he added.
Kotoko will now brace for a challenging clash against Moroccan heavyweights Wydad Athletic Club in the next round.
The Kumasi-based side will host the first leg before travelling to Casablanca for the return fixture in October.
