The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and CAF’s 2nd Vice President, as the new President of its Organising Committee for Inter-Club Competitions and Club Licensing Management.
In his new role, Simeon-Okraku will oversee the strategic planning and administration of CAF’s flagship inter-club tournaments, including the CAF Champions League and the CAF Confederation Cup.
He will also be responsible for supervising the implementation and continuous development of the Club Licensing System—a key framework designed to professionalise club football across Africa and ensure adherence to international standards.
As chair of the inter-club committee, he will collaborate with CAF’s Executive Committee, Member Associations, and other key stakeholders to strengthen the competitiveness and global profile of African club competitions.
His appointment is seen as a significant step in CAF’s ongoing reforms, with Simeon-Okraku expected to bring strong leadership and vision to the role.
