The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the Buem-Jasikan Municipality in the Oti Region, Park-Davies Magyigbe, recently paid a courtesy visit to local chiefs to seek their support for enhancing development in the area.
This initiative aims to foster community development and highlights the MCE’s commitment to engaging traditional leadership in the governance process, as well as promoting collaboration for the betterment of the municipality.
Visit to Jasikan and Okadjakrom Chiefs
During his visit to Nana Kpesseh Edjei Brantuo of the Jasikan palace and Osabarima Antwi Adjei at Okadjakrom, MCE Park-Davies emphasized the importance of unity between the municipal assembly and traditional authorities.
He acknowledged the crucial role that chiefs play in community mobilization and development initiatives.
The MCE outlined his administration’s key priorities, which include improving revenue generation, enhancing road infrastructure, and advancing health services within the municipality.
He pledged to work closely with the chiefs to identify and implement strategies that would boost revenue, ensuring sustainable development.

Road and Project Development Plans
Regarding infrastructure, the MCE assured the chiefs that efforts would be made to upgrade the roads in Jasikan town, the Worawora-Jasikan road, and other vital connections to the municipal capital, acknowledging that poor road conditions hinder progress.
He promised to prioritize road development in the municipality.
Additionally, the MCE highlighted his administration’s commitment to completing ongoing projects that were started during the NPP era but have since stalled.
Chiefs Pledge Support
The chiefs, Nana Kpesseh Edjei Brantuo of Jasikan and Osabarima Antwi Adjei, expressed their willingness to support the MCE’s initiatives and collaborate on various development programs.
They stressed the importance of involving community members in the decision-making process to ensure that projects are sustainable and beneficial for all.
Osabarima Antwi also advised the MCE to distance himself from any chieftaincy disputes in the area, cautioning that such involvement could create problems for both the government and the assembly as a whole.
