Bryan Acheampong says Bawumia is his biggest competitor in NPP race

NPP presidential aspirant and Abetifi MP, Dr Bryan Acheampong, has identified Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia as his main competitor in the party’s 2026 presidential primaries.

Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen show, Dr Acheampong said that although Bawumia is his main rival, he is currently leading based on his profiling of the delegates.

“My main competitor is Bawumia, but based on my analysis of the delegates, I am leading by a significant margin. I will win the NPP flagbearer race,” he said.

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has scheduled its presidential primary for Saturday, January 31, 2026, to select a flagbearer for the 2028 general elections.
