Bournemouth chief lauds Antoine Semenyo for extending contract

AFC Bournemouth’s President of Football Operations, Tiago Pinto, has praised Ghanaian forward Antoine Semenyo for extending his stay at the club.

The 25-year-old signed a new long-term contract with the Cherries on Tuesday, July 1, despite reported interest from Premier League giants Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.

Speaking to the club’s official website, Pinto expressed his delight at Semenyo’s decision, emphasizing the player’s importance to the team.

“Antoine [Semenyo] has been crucial to the club’s progress and is a key member of the project here at Vitality Stadium. We have a great relationship with Antoine, and we’re looking forward to continuing that as we hope to build on a record-breaking season,” Pinto told the club website.

“His commitment to the club matches our ambition, and I’m excited to see what can be achieved as we prepare for the new campaign,” he added.

Semenyo was a standout performer last season, netting 11 goals and providing seven assists in 42 appearances across all competitions. His contributions helped Bournemouth to a historic 9th-place finish in the Premier League — the club’s highest ever.
