The District Chief Executive for Bosomtwe, Abdulia Hamidu, has assured residents of government’s commitment to complete key infrastructure projects in the district, including the stalled Bosomtwe Lake Road and the Sawua Regional Hospital, before the end of its term.
He gave the assurance during a fundraising event in Jachie aimed at supporting the establishment of a new training college.
Speaking on the sidelines of the programme, the DCE noted that government recognises the economic and health benefits the two projects will bring to the district and the wider region.
He acknowledged the current delays but indicated that steps would be taken to address the challenges and resume work to ensure timely completion.
Ing. Hamidu emphasised that the Lake Road project is critical to improving accessibility and boosting tourism around the Bosomtwe enclave, while the Sawua Regional Hospital is expected to significantly enhance healthcare delivery in the area.
He further disclosed that Bosomtwe is close to being upgraded from a district to a municipal assembly, a development he said would attract more resources, strengthen governance structures, and accelerate socio-economic growth.
According to him, the completion of the ongoing projects, coupled with the anticipated change in status, reflects a broader commitment to improving infrastructure, expanding access to essential services, and driving development across the district.
