Bono East Regional Minister, Francis Owusu-Antwi, has appealed to the Omanhene to collaborate with the House of Chiefs to resolve over 40 chieftaincy disputes in the region.

He made the appeal during the coronation of the Omanhene and Omanhemaa of the Nkoranza Traditional Area.

The event saw streets filled to capacity as residents celebrated the coronation of Nana Kwame Baffoe and Nana Yaa Sarpomaa as the Omanhene and Omanhemaa of Nkoranza Traditional Area.

Although the Omanhene was installed and gazetted a few years ago, he faced challenges in exercising his authority effectively due to ongoing disputes. The situation improved last year following the installation of a new queen mother after the demise of Nana Yaa Kaani. Through patience and leadership, conflicts surrounding the two have been largely resolved, earning them the support of the people.

Speaking at the coronation, Regional Minister Francis Owusu-Antwi urged the chiefs to assist the House of Chiefs in resolving over 40 remaining disputes across the region.

Nana Kwame Baffoe Agyentadua, Omanhene of Nkoranza, called on citizens to contribute to a development fund aimed at initiating projects in the traditional area to complement government efforts.
