The Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has revealed that the organisers of the Unity Cup have not yet paid the participation fee owed to the Black Stars.
Ghana’s senior national team took part in the Four Nations tournament in London in June this year.
The Black Stars opened the competition with a loss to Nigeria but bounced back with a convincing victory over Trinidad and Tobago to secure third place in the tournament.
Speaking on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem on Wednesday, September 3, Adams, who also serves as the Member of Parliament for Buem Constituency, clarified that while the government did not cover any expenses for the team’s participation, the tournament organisers are yet to settle the agreed participation fee.
