Black Stars Management Committee member, Dr Richard Nsenkyire, says Ghana’s sole focus is to secure qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The senior national team will reconvene next month to continue their qualifying campaign with two crucial fixtures.
Ghana will face Chad at the Stade Olympique Maréchal Idriss Déby Itno on Thursday, September 4, before hosting Mali at the Accra Sports Stadium on Monday, September 8.
With just four matches remaining, Dr Nsenkyire is confident the Black Stars will seal a ticket to their fifth World Cup, which will be jointly staged by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
“We are expecting that we will qualify for the 2026 World Cup, and that is our focus,” he told Asempa FM’s Ultimate Sports Show.
Ghana currently top Group I with 15 points from six games, three points clear of Comoros and five ahead of Madagascar.
Head coach Otto Addo is scheduled to open camp in Accra on Monday, September 1, to step up preparations ahead of the September encounters.
The Black Stars will then wrap up their qualification campaign in October with matches against Comoros and the Central African Republic.
