An interim coach is expected to be recommended for the Black Stars by the five-member committee tasked with finding a successor to Carlos Queiroz.
The committee was established by the Ministry of Sports and the Ghana Football Association (GFA) last week following Queiroz’s sudden resignation as head coach of the senior national team.
According to 3Sports, the committee is expected to recommend an interim coach when it submits its report on Friday, 9 October.
The interim coach would take charge of Ghana for the November double-header against Somalia in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers at the Accra Sports Stadium before settling on a substantive head coach.
The committee’s mandate is also expected to be extended after Friday’s recommendation to allow it to continue its search for a substantive head coach.
The five-member committee is chaired by former GFA vice-president Fred Pappoe and includes former Black Stars captain Stephen Appiah, former Ghana international Anthony Yeboah, Faisal Chibsah and Agbesi Dzakpasu.
Queiroz stepped down after Ghana suffered consecutive defeats at the start of their 2027 AFCON qualifying campaign.
The Black Stars lost 2-0 away to Ivory Coast before suffering a 4-2 defeat by The Gambia in Accra.
Those results leave Ghana bottom of Group C without a point from their opening two matches.
The Black Stars are now under pressure to revive their campaign and secure a return to the AFCON after missing the 2025 tournament in Morocco.
