Black Stars midfielder Elisha Owusu has acknowledged the tough challenge Ghana faces in the 2026 World Cup group stage.
Drawn into Group L, the Black Stars will take on Panama, England, and Croatia in a tournament co-hosted by the USA, Canada, and Mexico this summer.
“It’s a strong group. A really, really strong group. Croatia and England are big teams, and Panama also has quality. I like it because we will have big games,” Owusu said.
The Auxerre midfielder emphasized that Ghana’s focus is on making a lasting impact.
“Our main goal is to go far in the World Cup and to show the world that African football is feared. We won’t go there just to participate; we want to perform with all humility and show the world what Ghana can do,” he added.
As part of their preparations, the Black Stars will regroup in March for international friendlies against Austria and Germany.
Ghana’s World Cup campaign kicks off against Panama on June 17, followed by a clash with England on June 23, before concluding the group stage against Croatia on June 27.
