Black Stars began training in Vienna on Monday as they prepare for Friday’s international friendly against Austria.

A total of 21 players took part in the opening session at the Vienna Football Campus to kick off the week’s preparations.

Sunday marked the official start of camp, and Monday’s one-hour training focused on recovery for players who had featured for their clubs the previous day, while others worked on tactical patterns and shooting exercises.

Those involved in Monday’s session included Lawrence Ati-Zigi, Benjamin Asare, Joseph Anang, Patrick Pfeiffer, Derrick Luckassen, Derrick Kohn, Jerome Opoku, Caleb Yirenkyi, Kojo Oppong Pepprah, Jonas Adjetey, Marvin Senaya, and Gideon Mensah.

Elisha Owusu, Ibrahim Sulemana, Kwasi Sibo, Jordan Ayew, Prince Kwabena Adu, Christopher Bonsu Baah, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, Antoine Semenyo, Kamal Deen Sulemana, and Daniel Agyei also took part.

Deputy captain Thomas Partey joined the squad in Vienna on Monday, raising the camp numbers to 22, with Alexander Djiku and Kojo Oppong Peprah expected later in the day.

Preparations will continue ahead of the friendly at Ernst Happel Stadion, scheduled to kick off at 17:00 GMT, as the team sharpens its plans for the 2026 World Cup this summer.
