Black Stars head coach Otto Addo visits injured Abdul Mumin in Spain

-

Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has visited injured defender Abdul Mumin in Spain as the player continues his recovery from a thigh injury.

Mumin sustained the injury on March 31 during Rayo Vallecano’s 1-1 draw with Sevilla and has since been sidelined from La Liga action.

With the Black Stars set to regroup in London later this month for a four-nation friendly tournament featuring Trinidad & Tobago, Nigeria, and Jamaica, the technical team is closely monitoring Mumin’s rehabilitation progress.

Ghana is scheduled to play on May 28 and June 3, 2025 (note: June has only 30 days), as part of the tournament, which will be hosted in the United Kingdom.

Mumin, who has made nine appearances for the senior national team, was pleased with Coach Addo’s visit and took the opportunity to update him on his recovery.

Having already missed Ghana’s 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar, Mumin is also set to miss the UK tournament, which serves as a key part of the team’s preparation for the next round of qualifiers in September.

However, he is expected to return to the Black Stars squad for the matches against Chad and Mali in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers before the final round of games against the Central African Republic and Comoros in October.
