Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has described Ghana’s upcoming friendly against Germany as a priceless opportunity to assess his team’s readiness ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The Black Stars will face the 2014 world champions on March 30 in Stuttgart as part of their preparations for the tournament, which will be co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico next summer.

Speaking ahead of the clash, Addo said the encounter provides an ideal benchmark for his squad as they build toward the global showpiece.

“This is an amazing opportunity for us to test ourselves against one of the best teams in the world,” Addo said. “Germany are a good side, and we can’t wait to face them in Stuttgart,” the 50-year-old added.

Ghana has yet to record a victory against Germany, with one draw and two defeats in three previous meetings. Their heaviest loss came on April 14, 1993, when they were beaten 6–1 in an international friendly.

The Black Stars have been drawn in Group L for the 2026 World Cup, where they will face Panama, England, and Croatia.
