The Black Satellites have booked their place in the semifinals of the ongoing U-20 WAFU B Championship after a hard-fought 1-0 win over Benin’s Young Cheetahs on Wednesday at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram.

A decisive second-half strike from Bless Ege made the difference as Ghana secured the crucial victory to advance to the final four of the competition.

Speaking at the post-match press conference, Black Satellites head coach Desmond Ofei acknowledged the stiff challenge posed by Benin but commended his players for their resilience.

“It’s a hard-fought victory,” Ofei said. “Honestly, we needed the win, so we had to show some character, and the boys showed that today. That was what we were missing in our last game. Luckily, we came away with a good goal, and that led to the three points, so we are very happy.”

Ghana finishes second in Group A on goal difference and will now face the winner of Group B in the semifinal stage.
