The Black Queens have climbed five places in the latest FIFA Women’s World Ranking, rounding off an impressive run of performances since August.

Ghana’s 2024 WAFCON bronze medallists, previously ranked 67th, now sit 62nd in the world.

The latest update also boosts their continental standing, placing them third in Africa behind Nigeria and South Africa.

The rise comes on the back of a strong WAFCON campaign earlier this year in Morocco and a dominant 7–0 aggregate win over Egypt in their final qualifying tie for the 2026 tournament.

Their only setback in recent months was a friendly loss to England in December.

With qualification secured, the Black Queens now shift focus to preparations for the 2026 WAFCON, scheduled for 17 March to 3 April in Morocco.
