Black Queens forward Princella Adubea has heaped praise on her teammates following Ghana’s impressive performance at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
After a shaky start to the tournament, the Black Queens rallied to claim the bronze medal — their best finish since 2016.
Speaking in an interview on Adom TV’s Fire for Fire, Adubea commended the strength and quality across the current squad, emphasising the depth in every department.
“The quality of the Black Queens team is very high, from the goalkeeping department to the attackers. All the players have genuine talents,” she stated.
Looking ahead, the team is aiming to qualify for the next WAFCON edition, with hopes of reaching the semifinals — a milestone that would secure them a spot at the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil.
In recognition of their performance, former President John Mahama and the Minority Caucus in Parliament have extended financial support to the team as a gesture of appreciation.
