The Black Queens of Ghana have dropped one place in the latest FIFA Women’s World Rankings, slipping from 66th to 67th despite an impressive performance at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

The latest rankings, released on Thursday, August 7, reflect the global standings of women’s national teams following the conclusion of several continental tournaments, including WAFCON.

Despite the drop on the global chart, the Black Queens have held firm in Africa, maintaining their sixth-place position on the continental rankings.

At the just-ended WAFCON tournament hosted in Morocco, Ghana recovered from a shaky start to secure a bronze medal, their first podium finish since 2016.

Head coach Kim Lars and his squad will now aim to build on this momentum as they prepare for upcoming qualifiers ahead of the next edition of WAFCON.
