The Black Princesses are firmly focused on securing a spot at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup following a resounding 6-0 aggregate victory over Tunisia in the qualifiers. Ghana defeated the North Africans 2-0 in the first leg and sealed the tie with a 4-0 win in the return fixture.
Speaking after the match, Coach Charles Sampson stressed the importance of taking the campaign one step at a time.
“Our goal is to qualify for the World Cup, but our intention is to go step by step. Now that we are done with Tunisia, our next focus turns to the next match against South Africa,” he said.
Sampson revealed he has already studied the South African team, who opened their campaign with a 5-0 win over Eswatini. Confident in his squad’s ability, he added:
“I have already watched them in the first leg against Eswatini, where they scored five goals. We are up to the task; our aim is to go to the World Cup, so any opponent we get, we will study them and work on how we can outweigh them.”
Ghana will meet South Africa in the next round of qualifiers, scheduled for early next year.
