Bernard Ahiafor, Collins Dauda Sworn In As Members Of Pan-African Parliament

Ghana’s First Deputy Speaker of Parliament and Akatsi South MP, Bernard Ahiafor, alongside the Member of Parliament for Asutifi South, Collins Dauda, have officially been sworn in as Members of the Pan-African Parliament (PAP) in South Africa.

The brief but dignified ceremony took place at the PAP headquarters in Midrand, where representatives from across the continent gathered to mark the opening of the new parliamentary session.

Their induction reinforces Ghana’s active role in the Pan-African legislative body, which serves as the voice of Africa’s people and promotes democratic governance, human rights, and economic integration among African Union (AU) member states.

Hon. Ahiafor and Hon. Dauda join a distinguished group of Ghanaian lawmakers representing the nation at the continental level, contributing to discussions on peace, security, trade, and sustainable development.

Established under Article 17 of the African Union Constitutive Act, the Pan-African Parliament provides a platform for African parliamentarians to deliberate on issues affecting the continent and propose solutions to advance the AU’s Agenda 2063 — “The Africa We Want.”

Their participation highlights Ghana’s commitment to Pan-African ideals, regional cooperation, and legislative diplomacy aimed at strengthening unity and progress across Africa.
