Beposo health center encouraging residents to regularly visit health facilities for screening

Yellow fever and whooping cough are pressing health concerns requiring attention in the Sekyere Central District of the Ashanti region.

District health officers are encouraging residents to regularly visit health facilities for screening and treatment.

He spoke at a health screening exercise by the Beposo Health Centre in collaboration with the KT Sarpong Foundation.

Approximately 500 citizens took part in the health screening, an initiative to effectively reduce the disease burden in the district.

District Health Promotion Officer, Francis Oduro Kodie, emphasized the importance of educating citizens to visit the health centre promptly.

Kofi Tawia Sarpong, the founder of KT Sarpong Foundation, made a donation of medicines, fridge, air conditioner, wheelchair, and mattress valued at GH¢100,000 to underscore his commitment to supporting healthcare in the community.

Over the next five years, the Foundation will secure funding to execute impactful projects.

Principal Physician Assistant at the Beposo Health Centre, Abdul Fatawu, noted the efforts of the facility to provide quality healthcare are hindered by poor laboratory equipment among other infrastructure challenges, especially accommodation for nursing staff.

He is encouraging the government and other organizations to support the Centre.
