Hearts of Oak head coach Didi Dramani has reiterated his unwavering faith in Benjamin Asare, insisting the goalkeeper remains the club’s undisputed first choice whenever he is fit and available.
Asare returned to action after several weeks on the sidelines through injury, reclaiming his place between the posts as the Phobians edged Hohoe United 1-0 at the Hohoe Stadium. Muwuli Wayo’s late strike sealed the win.
Speaking after the match, Dramani was forthright in underlining Asare’s status and influence within the squad, describing him as both the team’s number one goalkeeper and its captain.
“Benjamin Asare is our number one goalkeeper and the captain. Whenever he is fit and ready, he gets the nod to start,” Dramani stated.
The goalkeeper’s comeback is seen as a timely boost for Hearts of Oak as they aim to gather momentum in the second half of the season, with the head coach clearly placing his trust in Asare’s leadership and reliability at the back.
Hearts of Oak now turn their attention to a home clash against Dreams FC at the University of Ghana Stadium in the Matchday 19 fixtures this weekend.
