The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Bekwai, Salifu Issaka Salia Salisu, has overseen the rehabilitation of key roads in the municipality to facilitate the transportation of farm produce to markets.

Adom News visited the area, covering the route from Ofoase Kokoben to Brosankro, and observed that poor road conditions had long hampered the movement of agricultural goods.

Speaking to Adom News correspondent Isaac K. Normanyo, the MCE highlighted that Bekwai is a major food-producing area, particularly for cocoa, a vital commodity for Ghana’s economy.

He noted that many farmers had struggled to transport their produce efficiently due to the state of the roads.

To address the issue, the assembly decided to grade and reshape the roads, making them motorable and ensuring that farmers’ produce could reach markets safely and on time.

Salifu Issaka Salia Salisu emphasized that the assembly remains committed to supporting farmers and improving infrastructure to boost agricultural productivity in the municipality.
