Bechem United confident of survival despite poor start

Bechem United head coach, Kobina Amissah, says he remains confident the club will avoid relegation despite their difficult start to the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.

The Hunters have struggled to find consistency this term, sitting 16th on the table with six points from nine matches. The former FA Cup champions have managed just one win, three draws, and five defeats so far.

Amissah, who took charge of his first game last weekend — a 3-2 loss to league debutants Young Apostles — admitted the result was disappointing but expressed optimism about the team’s chances.

“I can say the league is too young. We have about 25 matches to go, so we have more time,” Amissah said. “We are going to bounce back strongly and make sure we do the right things. We have to concentrate and play according to the instructions we give them.”

Bechem United will aim to turn their season around when they host FC Samartex in their Matchday 10 fixture at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park this weekend.
