Former Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia has expressed sadness over the passing of former Savannah Regional Minister and ex-Member of Parliament for Salaga South, Salifu Braimah.
The late politician passed away on Sunday, April 12, at the University of Ghana Medical Centre, where he was receiving treatment. He was 60 years old.
In a message of condolence, Dr. Bawumia described the late Braimah as a devoted stalwart of the New Patriotic Party who contributed significantly to the growth and development of the party.
He extended his sympathies to the bereaved family, friends, the people of the Salaga South Constituency, and the Savannah Regional branch of the party.
Dr. Bawumia prayed for the peaceful repose of the deceased, asking Allah to grant him Jannah and accept his soul.
Salifu Braimah served as the first Savannah Regional Minister following the creation of the region and later represented the Salaga South Constituency in Parliament. He was widely regarded within the New Patriotic Party as a grassroots organiser and development-oriented politician who played a key role in the early administrative structures of the new region.
During his time in public service, he was involved in regional coordination efforts aimed at strengthening governance and improving local development outcomes in the Savannah Region.
Until his passing, he remained an active figure within the party.
