Former Vice President and 2024 New Patriotic Party(NPP) Presidential Candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has, on behalf of the party, rendered an unqualified apology to Ghanaians.

Dr. Bawumia has appealed to Ghanaians to forgive the NPP for their mistakes during the eight years in government, stating they have learnt their lessons and will do better when given another opportunity.

He was speaking at Bekwai while rounding up his three-day visit as part of the nationwide Thank You Tour.

According to him, the party has come to appreciate that they didn’t get some things right, and the Ocquaye Committee’s report has made it clear that they could have done better.

He again urged the party to put the 2024 elections behind them and unite ahead of the 2028 elections.

Dr. Bawumia again drew inspiration from former president Kufuor, who had told him after the elections of how recorded a terrible 37% in the 1996 elections, but staged a come back to win the 2000 elections.

He added that it is enough motivation that if the party closes it ranks and unite, it can again win the 2028 elections.
