The The Apostolic Church Ghana Awenade District has thrown its support behind a new directive banning kissing during wedding ceremonies at Easter conventions.

The directive was announced by the President of the church, Dr. Aaron Ami-Narh, as part of efforts to promote modesty and uphold Christian values within the church.

Speaking at Saafi during the Easter convention, the District Pastor, Emmanuel Obeng, described the move as a positive initiative that will help strengthen discipline among members.

He urged the congregation to accept the directive in good faith and remain committed to the teachings of the church.

“This is a good initiative by the leadership of the church. We encourage all members to embrace it and continue to live according to the doctrines of Christ,” he stated.

Pastor Obeng also called on the public to accept Jesus Christ as their personal saviour, emphasising His sacrifice for mankind.

Some church members expressed varied opinions on the directive. While many welcomed the decision as a step towards maintaining holiness and reverence during sacred ceremonies, others noted it would help strengthen the spiritual lives of members.
