Baba Sadiq calls on Creative Arts Agency to provide reliable industry data

Ghanaian politician, entrepreneur, and innovator Baba Sadiq has emphasised the need for the Creative Arts Agency (CAA) to take a proactive role in providing credible data for the country’s creative industry.

Speaking on Joy FM’s Showbiz A-Z with Kwame Dadzie, Baba Sadiq highlighted the importance of accurate data in shaping policies and guiding corporate decisions within the creative sector.

His remarks came while discussing the record-breaking turnout at Shatta Wale’s ShattaFest 2025, which reportedly attracted over 400,000 fans to the Black Star Square on 18th October 2025.

When asked if the CAA should be responsible for gathering and publishing attendance figures from major events such as Shatta Wale’s concerts, Baba Sadiq responded affirmatively.

“It’s inherent in their mandate to lead research and advocacy for the industry, so I don’t know what they are doing. Once it’s in their mandate, they are supposed to,” he stated.

Established in 2021, the Creative Arts Agency’s mandate includes developing and promoting the creative sector, leading policy research, supporting capacity building, advocating for industry growth, and coordinating data-driven initiatives to enhance Ghana’s creative economy globally.
