Reports reaching Adomonline.com indicates that former Municipal Chief Executive for Ejisu-Juaben, Afrifa Yamoah-Ponkoh has been picked up by the Ashanti Regional police command for questioning.
It is unclear why he was picked up but it is believed it could be in connection with Monday’s shooting at the NDC regional office in Kumasi which left one person dead and another seriously injured.
Nhyira FM’s Kwesi Debrah who revealed the arrest on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen Tuesday said Mr Yamoah-Ponkoh’s houseboy confirmed his arrest.

According to him, about 15 personnel from the police and the national security stormed his residence at about 1:30 PM on Tuesday to pick him up.
He added that Mr Yamoah Ponkoh drove to the police station in his personal vehicle.
Mr Yamoah-Ponkoh had revealed he saw the man who pulled the trigger that has left a member of his party dead.

He disclosed to Osei Bonsu on Asempa FM that he came to meet the persons at the precincts of the secretariat at the time he arrived without anything to suggest there was tension, insisting he saw the person who fired the shots.
