Masawudu Mubarick, the disqualified opponent of Asawase Member of Parliament, Mohammed Mubarak Muntaka, has dismissed claims that he might be an infiltrator within the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

“These are cooked up statements. I remember before constituency elections, chairman Wontumi came to say that he was going to pick executives for the NDC.

“He just made a loose comment and some of our party faithful because of internal wrangling have taken it just to tarnish my image and divide the party,” he said.

He was speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosi Sen programme after he was accused of being a New Patriotic Party (NPP) mole planted in the NDC with huge sponsorship to cause mayhem in the Asawase constituency.

Expressing concerns about being tagged an NPP mole, Mr Mubarick said the posturing of some party executives indicated that they did not want him to contest Mr Mubarak, who is the Minority Chief Whip in Parliament.

Mr Mubarick said though he humbly accepts the decision of the party, for now, he feels his disqualification by the Functional Executive Committee of his party was unfair and went against the democratic tenets of the NDC.
