A gang of three unidentified armed robbers on Friday night robbed a shrine at Mim in the Asunafo North District of the Brong Ahafo region and made way with an undisclosed quantity of gold bars and GH¢2, 500.00.

Information gathered by Adom News suggested that the police were prompted by the Krontihene, Nana Gyan I and the fetish priest, Nana Kwaku Addai of the town, who disclosed that a group of masked men invaded the shrine amidst firing of gunshots and looted the shrine.

In an interview with Adom News, the Police Crime Officer at Mim, ASP Ebo Asane said two people were hit by stray bullets.

“A man was hit on his waist and a woman also hit on her hand and currently receiving treatment at the Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi because of the condition of the victims,” he added.

He said no arrest has been made so far.

Daniel Kwesi Gdenyo, brother of the male victim, told Adom News his brother had to be transferred from the Goaso Hospital to the Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital due to how critical his condition was.
