Some drivers at Nsawam Adoagyir in the Eastern region are up in arms with authorities in the area over the deplorable nature of their roads.

According to the drivers, they have been left frustrated and the only option is to demonstrate and block the roads that connect Greater Accra to the Eastern regions.

The drivers say the road has been in a very deplorable state for the past decade and nothing has been done to fix it.

Coupled with that they noted that they have to always visit their mechanics because of the sorry nature of the roads.

“The state of our roads is very bad. We are been forced to buy spare parts every week. We are working for the boys at Abossey Okai dealers. It is very disturbing. We spend so many hours instead of just few hours to get to our destination” one driver cried.

They said attempts to get Members of Parliament for Ayensuano and Adoagyri/ Nsawam Constituencies; Samuel Ayeh Paye and Frank Annor Dompreh respectively to resolve the issue has not yielded any results.

Meanwhile, the MP for Ayensuano constituency, Samuel Ayeh Paye who was passing by to his constituency but was blocked by the demonstrators at the scene Tuesday morning called on the drivers to stay calm for amicable solution to the problem.
