Asutifi South DCE worried over late arrival of BECE candidates

-

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Asutifi South in the Ahafo Region, Benjamin Assabil Donkor, has raised concerns over the late reporting by some candidates writing the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

On the first day of the exams, June 11, 2025, Mr. Donkor, in an interview with Adom News, disclosed that he visited BECE centres at Hwidiem and Acherensua.

At the Hwidiem Senior High School (SHS), as of 8:40 a.m., only eight out of the 15 schools had arrived for the exams scheduled to commence at 9:00 a.m.

He cautioned that continued late reporting by candidates would be a troubling development.

Mr. Donkor urged teachers to desist from keeping candidates outside the centres in the name of last-minute studies, stating that such an attitude puts undue tension on the candidates.
