The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Asutifi South in the Ahafo Region, Benjamin Assabil Donkor, has directed the Agriculture Department to intensify public education on the government’s “Nkoko Nkitinkiti” initiative to ensure maximum participation by residents.
Speaking at the first General Assembly meeting in Hwidiem, Mr. Donkor noted that several assembly members had raised concerns that a significant number of residents were unaware of the programme, which is designed to improve livelihoods.
He warned that the district could lose out on major benefits if residents failed to get involved, stressing the need for massive sensitisation to highlight both the objectives and the advantages of the initiative.
On Internally Generated Funds (IGF), the DCE disclosed that new measures were being rolled out to boost revenue collection. According to him, staff have been deployed across communities with modernised strategies to enhance mobilisation.
