The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Asutifi South in the Ahafo Region, Benjamin Assabil Donkor, has pledged to prioritize development in Hwidiem to enhance the living conditions of both residents and traditional leaders.
Speaking at his maiden town hall meeting held in Hwidiem, the district capital, the DCE highlighted key challenges facing the town, including the absence of a modern market, poor road infrastructure, and inadequate educational facilities.
In an interview with Adom News, Mr. Donkor announced plans to establish a 24-hour economy market in Hwidiem to boost local business activities. He assured residents that his administration is committed to delivering the level of development the town rightfully deserves.
The Paramount Chief of the Hwidiem Traditional Area, Osuodumgya Barima Apea-Dwaah Boafo, who chaired the event, lauded the DCE for engaging directly with the community to understand their concerns.
He encouraged residents to contribute to the town’s development, emphasizing that progress is a shared responsibility and cannot be achieved by government efforts alone.
