Twenty-three (23) persons with disabilities (PWDs) in the Asutifi South District of the Ahafo Region have received support aimed at improving their livelihoods.

The Asutifi South District Assembly presented various items including fridges, provisions, mobile phone accessories, sheep and cash during a distribution exercise held in Hwidiem.

The District Chief Executive (DCE), Benjamin Assabil Donkor, told Adom News that a total of GH₵96,000 was spent to procure the items based on specific requests made by the beneficiaries.

He urged the recipients to make good use of the items to improve their living conditions and justify the government’s continued support for persons with disabilities.

Mr. Donkor added that the initiative forms part of efforts by the assembly to empower PWDs economically and help them become self-reliant.

Some beneficiaries, including Daniel Sackey and Lucy Tweneboah, expressed gratitude to the government for the gesture, describing the support as timely and impactful.

They assured the DCE and the Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, Alhaji Collins Dauda, that they would put the items to good use to improve their livelihoods.
