Asutifi South Assembly, MP begin mechanised borehole project to address water challenges

The Asutifi South District Assembly in the Ahafo Region, in partnership with the area’s Member of Parliament, has begun constructing mechanised boreholes to ease persistent water challenges in the district.

At Acherensua, where two boreholes are already under construction, District Chief Executive Benjamin Assabil Donkor told Adom News that several rural communities continue to struggle to access potable water.

To address the problem, the Assembly and MP Alhaji Collins Dauda have committed to delivering 15 mechanised boreholes by the end of 2025.

“It is heartbreaking to see the struggles residents go through due to lack of potable water,” Mr Donkor said, urging communities to use the facilities responsibly once completed.

He added that residents who wish to connect directly to the water source for household use would be given the opportunity to do so, to improve their living conditions.
