The Member of Parliament for Asutifi North in the Ahafo Region, Dr Ebenezer Kwaku Addo, has partnered with the National Health Students Association of Ghana (NaHSAG) to organise a free breast cancer screening and education programme for residents of Ntotroso and nearby communities.

The event, themed “Early Detection Saves Lives—Let Us Fight Breast Cancer Together,” aimed to raise awareness about the disease and encourage early testing among women.

Speaking to Adom News, Dr. Addo said early detection remains the most effective way to reduce breast cancer-related deaths in Ghana.

He emphasized the need for regular community sensitization and screening programmes to empower people with the right information and access to care.

“Our goal is to help people understand the importance of early detection and to ensure they know their health status. I’m very encouraged by the turnout and the enthusiasm shown by the participants,” Dr. Addo said.

The General Secretary of the National Health Students Association of Ghana, Poru Cosmos, and the Queen Mother of Ntotroso, Nana Kwartemaa Amponsah, also urged women to take breast cancer issues seriously, noting that late detection often leads to severe outcomes.

They both commended the MP for prioritizing women’s health and supporting initiatives that protect lives within the constituency.
