The Member of Parliament (MP) for Asutifi North Constituency in the Ahafo Region, Dr. Ebenezer Kwaku Addo, has launched an initiative dubbed “Light Up Asutifi North” aimed at improving security across communities in the district.
Speaking at the launch in Kenyasi, where he also commissioned his constituency office, Dr. Addo presented 150 streetlight bulbs and 5,000 household bulbs to support the project.
According to the MP, several areas in the constituency remain in darkness due to the absence of functioning streetlights, creating opportunities for criminal activities.
He believes the new lighting initiative will help reduce such incidents and enhance community safety.
Dr. Addo also donated 5,000 exercise books to the district’s education directorate for distribution to underprivileged pupils.
He called on residents and stakeholders, regardless of political affiliation, to unite and support efforts by both the Member of Parliament and the District Chief Executive to advance local development.
The “Light Up Asutifi North” project is expected to be rolled out in phases, prioritizing high-risk and densely populated communities.
