The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Asutifi North in the Ahafo Region, Hafiz Dauda, has disclosed that the assembly is intensifying efforts to educate residents on the importance of proper sanitation practices.
Speaking to Adom News at Kenyasi No.1, Mr. Dauda emphasized that achieving good sanitation in the district starts with public awareness of the health risks associated with poor hygiene. He stressed that residents must understand these dangers to fully support the assembly’s sanitation agenda.
The DCE added that once the ongoing sensitisation campaign takes full effect, the assembly will begin strict enforcement measures. He warned that anyone caught littering will face arrest and prosecution, regardless of their status or influence.
“Residents must understand that offenders will not be spared. Sanitation laws apply to everyone,” he cautioned.
Meanwhile, the Coordinating Director for the Ahafo Region, Joseph Frimpong Nayo, stated that the Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) will closely monitor all six assemblies in the region to ensure improved sanitation and safeguard public health.
He further noted that Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) programmes currently being implemented across the region are already yielding positive results and expressed optimism that th
