Assin Bresiako accident: Two deceased victims yet to be identified

Two of the five people who died in the gory accident at Assin Bresiako are yet to be identified by their families.

The crash involved a Yutong bus with registration number GT 5136-11, which was travelling from Cape Coast to Kumasi, and a tipper truck with registration number BA 2267-14, heading from Assin Fosu to Kumasi.

The incident occurred on Monday, May 12, 2025, when the Yutong bus veered off its lane while attempting to overtake and collided head-on with the oncoming tipper truck.

There were 23 adult passengers and three children aboard the Yutong bus.

All passengers sustained varying degrees of injuries, with five confirmed dead.

Some victims are currently receiving treatment at the Assin-Praso Government Hospital, while others have been referred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi, the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital, and the Winneba Trauma Hospital for further treatment.

The Yutong bus driver, identified as 45-year-old William Jirapa, and the tipper truck driver, 40-year-old Akwesi Osei, were among the deceased.
