Former Deputy Sports Minister, Joseph Yamin has said that Sports Minister, Isaac Kwame Asiamah is doing well at the Ministry.
Speaking on Asempa FM’s Sports Night, Yamin said Isaac Asiamah has done well but still has more room for improvement.
“Asiamah like I said, when given 0% will not be fair and anything more than 30% will also not be fair to the mark because all his plans are mostly visions and every minister who once worked at the ministry in one way or the other had one or two visions,” he said.
According to him, he will not be advocating for the reshuffling of Asiamah as he claims the Minister needs enough time to implement his visions for Ghana Sports.
“I have said that am also not advocating for Hon. Asiamah to be reshuffled because I have been in the ministry before and realized that one biggest challenge for the ministry is the short stay of ministers in office.
“We need a maximum of two years for a minister to be reshuffled so the process when started at a point truncates and for that matter I will prefer that at least we have a minister whose term in office can run to 3-4 years so that Hon. Asiamah’s plans of renovating Kumasi Sports stadium will be materialized under his administration,” he said.
The tough-talking Joseph Yamin believes that consistency at the Ministry is the only way the sector can see development and that the Presidency should keep the current Sports Minister, Hon. Isaac Asiamah and his deputy Hon. Pius Hadzide for not less than 3 years.
